One of our favourite things ever is when a client says they want to support our local artist community.
Our belief is that original art on the walls (particularly beautifully framed) is the best way to finish a room. There is never a bad way to invest in original art. But how do you choose what to get for your home?
Our major tips are:
- Don’t overthink it (which is hard when you’re forking out money, we know!). Follow your gut response to a piece. If it triggers something positive (though sometimes even an initial negative response is okay too!) in you, then that’s the piece for your walls.
-It doesn’t have to ‘go’ with other works in your home, or the overall aesthetic you’re trying to achieve - an eclectic collection is rarely a bad thing.
- You don’t have to spend BIG bucks to get beautiful art. Don’t assume you’re looking at $10k plus to get a quality art piece. Many galleries and local artists and interior decorators will help work within your budget.
